ACROBATICS - (3-5 min.  M/F - senior)    An older actor shows that seniors are still capable - lots of comic, physical moments

AUDITION PIECE -(5-7 min. F -  teens through 30s)  An actress gives an audition piece they won't forget

CHANGES-(2-4 min F 20s-50s)   A woman gets a diagnosis that changes her life

CLAPPING FOR MYSELF -(2-4 min.  F- 40s-older)  A woman decides to defy a mother's etiquette rules

CLARIFICATION –  (3-6 min.  F ) A teenager writes a letter about a product she feels is incorrectly advertised

THE EIGHT-CENT EGG - (6-8 minutes)   A woman recounts an unusual Passover story about her family

CURSE OF THE DUCHESS -  (10-15 min.  F- 70s-80s) 
A duchess recounts how a curse changed her life.  Touching- a tour de force for an older actress.

END OF THE MOTH WARS- (3-5 minutes F middle-senior)  How far will a person go to rid their home of unwanted flying pests?

THE FIRST TIME - (3-5 minutes  M/F - two versions) This is one where you can 'age' from very young to very old as you tell about the 'first times' throughout your life  - available male or female, both done together (duo) is a very effective stage/contest presentation

FROZEN -The Mother's monologue -(3-4 minutes F  35-55) A mother recounts what it is like to have a child in a coma

FLYING -  (1-2 min. F  young) - What happens when a young person sees Peter Pan and wants to fly


I LOVE SCHOOL! - (1-2 min.  F  teenager)  Sarcastic view from girl who has been bullied just a little too much

MY FEET HURT –(3-5 min   F - teens through?  (Needs knowledge of ballet)  What happens when you fall in love...with the dance.

NAKED PIE (3-5 min. F –senior - Southern accent helpful)  A lady watches her neighbors only to find out some things she didn’t want to know.

 NOBODY TOLD ME - ( 2-3 min.  F  teenager to mid-twenties)  A spoiled young lady finds out some unpleasant truths.

SECRET ROOM – (3-5 min. F 30's - ?)  Everyone should be able to have a secret place.  A woman talks about a recurring dream that changes her life.

THIS FLIGHT HAS BEEN DELAYED - (3-5 minutes  F   any age)  An unusually irritated stewardess tells the passengers what to expect.


TIME TRAVELER - (3-5 min.  M/F  any age)  A unusual visitor to an airport has a compelling story for other travelers.

TAKE OUT THE GARBAGE -(8-10 minutes  F  older woman) A woman tells her life story and marriage history via.... garbage.  Includes a song and chance for great audience interaction

UNDER CONTRACT – (2-3 min F- senior)  A famous actress is horrified about the type of tell-all memoirs she is being asked to write – until something might change her mind.

UNDER THE MOUNTAIN - (4-6 min.  F - teens through 40s)  How far should a woman go to follow her husband? 

WHAT HAVE I FORGOTTEN NOW?  (2-4 min. F late 20s-40s)  A woman heads to a wedding thinking about what has been left behind.

THE TOWEL LADY

    Set – minimal, some towels, a clothesline, washbasket
    1 character         1 older woman – 50s-60s

A woman hangs out her laundry while telling her unusual views on towels - and life.

This is possibly Janet S. Tiger's most produced work, having had numerous productions nationally and internationally.  This is also a popular piece for drama contests and auditions.

Running time –8 minutes            $5.00/script
    Set – simple, future
    1 characters   1 man – older

A man from the future describes the delight he has in the simple pleasure of...getting a cold.

(This monologue has been produced and used successfully in contests.)

BLOOD’ monologue from TRANSFUSION
Running time –            $4..00/script monologue  - $!5.00 full-length play
    Set –  bare stage                          
    1 character   1 man – 40s

A moving expression  of a man who is trying to deal with a transfusion from his son -  a transfusion that has given him AIDS.

This monologue has been very successful in both state and national competitions, and was performed at Kennedy Center for the President by a Presidential Scholar.

CURSE OF THE DUCHESS(monologue)

    Set –   minimal - chair, table, lamp
                Lighting and sound effects very important                            
    Character - The duchess - in her late 80s, very British

HESITATION-

  (8-10 min.  written for 20s-30s male, but recently won a blue ribbon for a senior female!)  Sometimes one moment can change our lives, but this piece shows how that one choice can affect everything.
