Caitlin worked as Assistant Director/Sound Tech on the April production of RENNY'S STORY.
In addition to directing and tech work, Caitlin is also an actress who is working on an afterschool special with the City of San Diego.  Her last show was The Crucible at SCPA in June.

THE END OF DEATH -
A SERIOUS COMEDY ABOUT THE FUTURE - WORLD PREMIERE IN AUGUST

THE END OF DEATH (The Future Ain't What it Used to Be!) by award-winning playwright Janet S. Tiger and starring acclaimed San Diego actor Jonathan Dunn-Rankin receives its world premiere on August 3rd, 8 PM at Swedenborg Hall, 1531 Tyler, SD 92103 and runs through August 19, with shows Friday and Saturday evenings at 8 PM and Sunday matinees at 3 PM.

Based on the no-longer-science-fiction idea - 'what if we lived forever?', THE END OF DEATH is offering an unusual special - anyone over the age of 100 gets a free ticket!  (with valid ID, of course).

Tiger, Swedenborg Hall's Playwright-in-Residence, was commissioned to write THE END OF DEATH as part of the Artist-in-Residency program.  Her first play at the hall, RENNY'S STORY, about a Holocaust survivor, sold out its May 2006 run, and her one-act, THE TOWEL LADY, was an audience favorite at the UHAO. (University Heights Arts Open)

   "This is very exciting for us to have our own playwright - and commission a world premiere," said Rev. Carla Friedrich, pastor of Swedenborgian Church where the Hall is located. She added, "Pardon the pun, but I am dying to see it."

Additional information about Jonathan Dunn-Rankin

Jonathan Dunn-Rankin (The Visitor) has performed on a numerous local stages- including the Old Globe (ten plays, three Atlas Awards), the San Diego Rep and most recently 6th@Penn ("Glengarry Glen Ross") and "School of the World" (Vantage Theatre).   Jonathan was a newscaster on KFMB-TV Channel 8,   executive director of the Pacific Southwest Chapter of The National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences (1980-2002), president of Diversionary Theatre (2000-2005), and is currently executive director of Bravo San Diego, Inc. He is a member of San Diego Actors Alliance and has been a mainstay of The Scripteasers since 1966.

Janet S. Tiger had her first play read at the SD playreading group Scripteasers  - with Jonathan Dunn-Rankin as the lead in1980.   Since that first reading, Janet has penned over 50 monologues, one-acts, full-length plays and screenplays- and has received over 30 national and local playwriting awards, including a National Endowment for the Arts (NEA)-COMBO Grant.  Her work has been published and produced internationally, from New York to New Zealand.  In San Diego, her THIRD PARTY was a San Diego Theater Critics Best New Play nominee.  She wrote the part of 'The Visitor' in The End of Death for Dunn-Rankin and is delighted to be working with him again.   www.playsbyjanetstiger.com

 JOINS SAN DIEGO PERFORMING ARTS LEAGUE -ANNOUNCES CALENDAR

Executive Producer DJ Sullivan and Rev. Carla Friedrich revealed some major firsts for 50-year-old SwedenborgHall - joining the SD Performing Arts League and releasing a calendar of theatrical events for 2007 which includes the world premiere of THE END OF DEATH (The Future Ain't What it Used to Be!) -a play commissioned specifically for the Hall 's first Playwright-in-Residence, Janet S. Tiger.

"This is a very exciting time for us - between DJ and Janet, we have a full season of great performances coming up," explained Rev. Friedrich, pastor of the Swedenborgian Church, where the Hall is located.  Friedrich also noted that,  "Janet 's play, RENNY'S STORY, premiered here at the hall last year to sold out houses and is being produced again in conjunction with Ohr Shalom at their stage right now.  (April 21 is the last night)  THE END OF DEATH is scheduled to open in August and will have a wonderful cast featuring Jonathan Dunn-Rankin, who most recently starred in 6th&Penn's GLENGARRY GLEN ROSS ."

DJ Sullivan, well-known for her stage and screen roles, has been conducting her Actors Workshop on Thursday evenings for decades and Sullivan Players will have two plays - TALKING WITH in May, and a Reader's Theater of WHO IS HARRY KELLERMAN AND WHY IS HE SAYING THESE TERRIBLE THINGS ABOUT ME? in October.

Sullivan and Tiger have theatrical connections going back 27 years - when Tiger's first play was read at a meeting of Scripteasers, a San Diego group for writers and actors.  The location of the reading - DJ Sullivan's house.
